aal "Disc1 + Inherited and Partially Transmitted" |
Deep Space / Inner Space Soundtracks. To celebrate Afe catalogue number 050 we are glad to bring you an aal's double CD-R release. "Disc1" can be seen as a Deep Space Soundtrack: warm, melancholic cosmic drones, like looking at a starlit nightsky from behind a window, in the coldest hours of winter. Passionately staring inward, towards a tumult that may scarcely get named, "Inherited and Partially Transmitted" can be seen as an Inner Space Soundtrack with darker drone textures over which unearthly sounds, sourced from guitar and flutes, dance, twirl and crackle. GERSTEIN "Here Comes Sickness" |
Wave / Electro Wave. As we're approaching Gerstein's 20th anniversary, please welcome "Here Comes Sickness", a collection of mostly unreleased and rare tracks. Gerstein has always been eclectic and those who followed him since the beginning are surely aware of this. Ten out of the fifteen tracks included on "Here Comes Sickness" are unreleased, the other few songs originally appeared on a compilation and a very limited tape release. [more]

BESTIA CENTAURI "The Antediluvian Earth" |
Avantgarde / Experimental. Unlike the Dark Ambient works to which it is sometimes mistakenly compared, the music of Bestia Centauri is dynamic and often disorienting. For those who resonate to primal myths of chaos, to Lovecraftian vortices, to the secrets of dark matter, or to the interstices of interstellar chaos, it will infuse them with energies from Acausal dimensions. MINDMAP "Plochy" |
Ambient-Electronica / Downtempo. We're pleased to announce that this is our favourite Afe release ever: if there has to be an album that synthesize all the different styles of electronic music we released until today, that is Plochy. We truly hope that this release will showcase Mindmap's enormous talent to a wider audience and that their music reach the right ears of someone in the music industry. Someone who can take them to Heaven, where we already wait for them listening to their wonderful music. [more]

TELEPHERIQUE "Hörspiele" |
Experimental. "Hörspiele" is a remarkable work whose main inpiration comes from the sensibility of Hearing, the chance of dreaming, meditating and travelling by the means of well known noises that people hardly listen because they are always present in the so-called "everyday life". For once the background turns into foreground and gets all the attention it always deserved. [more]

RAFFAELE SERRA "Europe Endless" |
Avantgarde. "Europe Endless" tries to describe in music some of the most particular and meaningful european cities. All tracks are surrounded by some kind of a mantric halo, a soft circle of light that keeps turning on itself over and over again. This music demands repetition to generate and keep the appropriate state of mind. The listener should not try to resist it, just let it flow. Endlessly. [more]

NIMH "Frozen" |
Ambient / Experimental. This album is constructed around long slowly evolving droney tunes that wander in isolation through the coldest low frequencies zones. The title itself appropriately depicts the musical contents of this work more than other thousand words. Terminal Ambient someone says... He's got it right. Get yourself well covered: the landscape is frozen... [more]

PETER PERCEPT "Pilgrimini" |
Weird Electronica. A groovy tour de force in plunderphonia where crazy sampled rhythms and funny melodies meet each other in front of the slobber covered desk of a psychiatric adviser. Most of the tracks sound unnervingly hilarious and pleasantly disturbing at the same time, and still you can dance to them! Weird and wacky like a serial killer wearing a Barry White mask... [more]

NAT EVANS "Post Modern Sound Images" |
Avantgarde. Nat Evans' debut album is a beautiful collection of strung-freely surreal electronic compositions that takes a dark edge at times but hopefully conveys a real spiritual sensibility to the listener. He recently declared that "A peaceful mind is what I want from my music"... listening to "Post Modern Sound Images" we can't help feeling like that. [more]

New Electronica. After delighting his audience with the self-titled debut album in 1998 Dr. Kabal has finally come up with his second full-lenght release. Entirely recorded at Pergolab and bearing the affectionate support of Leeza and the whole Afe Community, it literally sweats out the soul of the silicone chips that generated it. [more]

Dark Ambient / Experimental. Including mostly exclusive tracks by aal, Amon, Bad Sector, Bestia Centauri, Canaan, Etere-o, Moan, Non Ethos, Ornament, Subinterior, Subterranean Source and True Colour Of Blood, this is probably going to be one of the most interesting Dark Ambient / Experimental compilation of 2006. All participants were asked to provide a finished track and an unfinished sketch to be used as a "bridge" between one track and the other. Andrea Marutti (Amon) took care about compiling and mixing the music to create a long uninterrupted journey through dark territories and uncomfortable landscapes... [more]
